SSC JE Recruitment 2026 : Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Recruitment 2026 notification for 1,748 Junior Engineer posts. Educational Qualification Details

• JE (Civil): Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institute; or a three-year diploma in Civil Engineering plus relevant work experience (requirement varies by organization).
• JE (Electrical) / JE (Mechanical) / JE (Electrical & Mechanical): Degree or diploma in the relevant Electrical/Mechanical/Automobile engineering discipline from a recognized university/institute, with experience required in some organizations.
• JE (Telecom): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Electrical Communications, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or Instrumentation.
• Scientific Assistant (IMD): Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics as one of the subjects, or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications/Electronics/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering/Instrumentation/Information Technology/Telecommunication Engineering/Communication Engineering.

Application Fee – SSC JE Recruitment 2026

• Fee can be paid only through online modes: BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa/MasterCard/Maestro/RuPay debit card.
• The fee payment deadline is 23.09.2026 (23:00 hours).
• Fee once paid is not refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other examination.
• Applications with unpaid or incomplete fee status are summarily rejected.

Selection Process – SSC JE Recruitment 2026

Selection for SSC JE 2026 is based on the following stages:

1. Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) – Qualifying in nature. Covers General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 questions/50 marks), General Awareness (50 questions/50 marks), and the relevant engineering/technical subject based on the post applied for (100 questions/100 marks). Total duration is 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for a scribe). Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for each wrong answer.
2. Paper-II (Computer Based Examination) – For candidates shortlisted from Paper-I. Covers the relevant engineering/technical subject in depth (100 questions/300 marks) in 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates). Negative marking of 1 mark applies for each wrong answer.
3. Document Verification (DV) – Provisionally selected candidates must produce original certificates (educational qualification, category, age proof, experience, etc.) for verification by the concerned user department/organization.
4. Physical Standards and Medical Examination – Applicable specifically for posts under organizations such as Border Roads Organisation (BRO)/GREF, as detailed in the relevant annexure of the notice.

How to apply for SSC JE Recruitment 2026 Jobs

• Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the SSC website (ssc.gov.in). An OTR already generated on the old website (ssc.nic.in) is not valid on the new site.
• Log in and fill the online application form for the JE Examination 2026, either via the SSC website or the “mySSC” mobile app.
• Upload photograph and signature, or opt for Aadhaar-based authentication, which exempts candidates from certain photo/signature format rejections.
• Select your organization, post, and relevant subject/stream as per your educational qualification – this choice cannot be changed later.
• Pay the application fee online (if applicable) using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or a Visa/MasterCard/Maestro/RuPay debit card.
• Preview and submit the form, and save/print a copy for your records.
